Foundations

Introduction

Foundations is Qutoof’s flagship course. It is designed for students who have experience studying Arabic in English to take them to the next level. The course’s focus is on developing listening comprehension skills and vocabulary acquisition through active listening and guided reading.

At the end of the course, the students will have:

  • confidence in taking classes with Arabic as the medium of study
  • completed a review of Al-Aajromiyyah
  • read the story of Nuh (AS) from the textbook
  • complimented the story of Nuh (AS) from the Qur’an
  • learned how to perform I’raab analysis
  • acquired ~500 new Arabic vocabulary

Course Objectives

  • Review: to review grammar from Al-Aajromiyyah and extend existing grammar knowledge
  • Listening Comprehension: to develop listening comprehension skills by active listening and guided reading
  • Vocabulary Acquisition: to acquire new Arabic vocabulary
  • Arabic Medium: to get comfortable with Arabic as the medium of study progressively

Instructor

Sh Muhammad Helmi is a graduate of the University of Alexandria from the Faculty of Adab. He has taught students of all ages from all over the world for the last 15 years; 3 years at Qortoba Institute and 12 years privately. He is an expert in Arabic grammar, poetry and literature.

Sh Muhammad teaches Foundations and Advanced Islamic Studies at Qutoof Academy. Born, raised and residing in Alexandria, Egypt, he enjoys reading in his spare time.
